With 'Com Panis' designer Tessa Straver invites you on a journey into the world of bread making. In a society where bread has become a mass-produced commodity that is often wasted, she aims to restore its value by reintroducing a sense of care and connection. The collection offers a new narrative around bread. It is an exploration and celebration of the art of bread making, where every step of the process becomes an opportunity for meaningful engagement.

The collection consists of four elements, made of ceramics, textile, wood and metal. The first element is a jar to keep your sourdough starter close to your body, to create an environment that fosters growth and vitality by sharing your own body warmth and microbes. Using this object you enter into a symbiotic relationship where the sourdough starter becomes more than just a tool—it becomes a living companion. The second element is a set of bowls for feeding the starter. Rather than treating this task as a mere chore, the feeding process is transformed into a small daily ritual. The third element is a dough trough and resting place for two people and one dough. A space where collaboration and conversation intertwine by engaging in tactile interactions. Finally, the fourth element is a bowl for baking bread over an open fire. By transforming the act of baking into a communal experience, this bowl brings people together, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
